Homosexuality

by epb

Disclaimer: I am not here to start a hate campaign against homosexuals, but to show the way as it was written in the bible.

Time has really changed!

When I was a child, you never know if there person you are talking to is homosexual. Gays are afraid to express their feelings.  I still remember, I had classmate back then who was beaten up by his dad when he admitted that he is gay.  What was worse is that he came from family of policemen.  However, in the years that had passed, the concept of homosexuality is slowly being accepted by the society. Today, they are openly accepted and encouraged in all walks of life.  They are everywhere -- from the lowly  street sweeper up to the people in the highest positions of business and government.  There already are countries which allow same sex marriages like the United States (The Netherlands which approved same sex marriage in year 2000).  Here in the Philippines, there are already discussions about the issue.

Sadly, some churches are now accepting homosexuals into the congregation without changing their sexual orientation. To quote one pastor in a big church, "God absolutely approves of everyone — including homosexuals" (Click herehere and here).

What is very sad about this is that they are telling us that it is okay to be gay, but God is clearly against this as seen in these passages:

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.   In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. (Romans 1:26-27)

If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.   (Leviticus 20:13)

Others scriptures like Leviticus 18:22; Deuteronomy 23:17-18; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Timothy 1:8-10 and Jude 1:7 which tells us that  God clearly abhor homosexuality.  Do we need another Sodom and Gomorrah? Do we need to be at the receiving end of God's punishment for our stubbornness and wickedness once more?  If you think it is okay for homosexual relationships to be accepted in the society, or if you do not have a stand regarding this matter, please pray for guidance and rethink your thoughts and possibly, your actions (Matthew 6:33).
