Great Light Invasion - The GIA 5th Year Anniversary Report

by Dorie

Great Light Invasion- "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you". This is the Lord’s message for GOD is Adonai’s (GIA) 5th year New Season Anniversary. Held at Rizal Re-Creation Center, Laguna from November 1-2, 2014; the whole congregation gathered with much expectation of the Lord’s presence and a new, higher level of encounter.

There were seven (7) teams headed by young leaders and three (3) assistants, young leaders were chosen to lead the team to test the obedience of the grown-ups. They had to follow their leaders’ instructions such as singing and dancing for the cheering – even the old ones’ danced- shame had no place here, and the arthritis? No pain in the presence of the Lord. They were all on the go.   Good job parents, granny and grandpa!

The first night was awesome; the Lord has met and exceeded our expectation of encountering Him.  During the praise and worship everyone had felt the presence of the Lord and we just found ourselves kneeling and crying before Him. The Lord also poured out His anointing ten times more powerful. Some were delivered and confessed their sins before God; others had the privilege to experience heaven. The atmosphere was so amazing, full of love and joy. His very presence was the reason for being in that place and yes He was there. All we could say was “Thank you Lord, we’ll be carrying this new experience as we go home tomorrow.  We’ll shine as your light on earth”.

Rev. Joe Mauk has never failed to amaze us with his
evangelistic top show.
Early morning of the second day everyone jogged
around the cabins and the Redeemer’s Halls

ten times while singing praise songs.
We also didn’t miss the chance to pray together before the meal.
Kuya Tito led us into prayer with a prelude of
“I know the Lord will answer all my prayers”.

THE TEAMS

The Red Elite Force
Leader: Carlito Lacon
Assistants: James Dumapit and Jirico Cantay

This team has the most number of kids in their group yet they proved that kids are never burden.  Their kids participated well in the cheering and even performed the best part.

Steadfast- declared as overall champion this team topped the other groups by being faithful in following orders and consistently getting high scores in team building activities.

Message from the leader:
Natutunan ko sa pagiging leader na kinakailangang ikaw yung nangunguna sa members. Submission, unity and cooperation eto rin yung mga natutunan ko sa pagiging leader sa group. Pero higit sa lahat ang isang grupo ay hndi effective kung walang apoy sa pananalangin. Carl

The Fervent Orange
Leader: Angelika Mercader
Assistants: Roger Ramos and Patricia Oña

Assertiveness- with their always energetic leader and the group’s will power to accomplish the task competitively this team has shown a real deal of determination.

Message from the leader:
Sobrang saya and nakaka-bless lahat ng experiences namin. Mula bata hanggang matanda ay nag-contribute. It is very important din na maging submissive at matutong makinig. Kailangang may joy sa ginagawa and do all things for the glory of God. Lahat kami sa team ay halos ngayon lang nagka sama-sama and napaka importante na lahat ay connected in the Spirit. Mahalaga na nagkaka-isa sa response. Angel

The Yellow Bombers
Leader: Myra Glorioso
Assistants: Kuya Tito and Ruth Marie Dumapit

It’s not easy to continue in any game when the others are already finished and all eyes are on you. However, this team is different, they taught us that winning is not about being first – it’s finishing what you’ve started patiently.

Message from the leader:
Ang hirap maging leader in a short span of time na sa grupo ay may mga magkaka-ibang ugali at character but, sa grace ni Lord it is always possible to unite a group as one. Ang natutunan ko, when we are in a competition as a group, we can’t be successful if only some members want the group to win. Preparations, submission to leader, sensitivity and unity have to be established to have a powerful team. (next time) hahaha.  Salamat Yellow Team tayo ulit next year ha! Myra

The Green Warriors
Leader: Karmela Rae Baldo
Assistants: Glenn Rodriguez and Joy Uchi

Play hard Pray hard. This team has initiated a very forcible prayer before the night’s session that made every one follow. We also don’t forget how this team showed empathy when they helped the other team finish their task- a true concern for brethren.

Message from the leader:
There are so much challenges I faced being a leader. Sure, I have either been a facilitator or an assistant leader in the past, but being a leader makes the job so much harder. Granted, both do almost the same tasks, but being the leader makes your face be the one out front, beside the group name. It also means you're responsible for every single one of your members no matter what age or time it may be. Being a leader also means that you're always the first to step up during events, and the last to leave afterwards. Being a leader also means that you put everyone ahead of yourself, no matter how inconvenient it may be. Overall, it was fun. I am sure the group also had fun being a team in itself. Granted, there are a few bumps along our road (as we can never totally avoid that), but we persevered as a team, became one as a team, and won every single challenge with a light heart as a team. I'm sure we'll miss each other's company soon enough. Karmela

Mighty Blue Archers
Leader: Dexter Nuelan
Assistants: Daniel Mandita and Zenaida Ombao

These archers had surprised us the most. During the practice, while everyone was doing fine in their cheering this team seemed to be indecisive on what to perform.  Like a flock of sheep beside groups of lions this team was the most quiet, yet their cheering captivated us by using scriptures before shooting their arrows and using the theme- “Nagliwanag” as their jingle.

Message from the leader:
Di madali maging leader pero kung may patience ka, positive at masaya kayang-kaya. Ang masasabi ko sa mga ka grupo ko astig silang lahat. Although may naging challenge sa akin sa pag handle ng ilang mga ka-group ko patience lang talaga, pero ganoon pa man enjoy ako sa team at masaya ko sa pinakita nilang response as group members. Dexter

Violet Royalty
Leader: Honeylyn Jarilla
Assistants: Arnel Ruzol and Joy Castillo

Who could have shown the real meaning of commitment better than this team’s leader -Ate Honey.  Despite feeling pain on her back days before the anniversary; she was determined enough not to leave her group and experience what the Lord is going to do. As a reward, her group cooperated wholeheartedly all throughout the activity.

Message from the leader:
Being positive in a negative situation- though you have “pinag-dadaanan”, though you’re not familiar with your group mates you need to stand up and be on top of them. You need to show support when they are down. Be a motivator.  Most especially be GOD guided. Enjoy every moment with your team. Honey

Pink Radiance
Leader: Eddie Villanueva
Assistants: Bless Ruzol and Pinky Villanueva

We were dazzled by this team’s radiance as they showed us that unity is possible even in the absence of their leader during the first few hours of practice. Submission to the assistant leaders who were younger than them was also demonstrated.

Message from the leader:
As a leader, I learned courage, integrity, humility, vision, focus, cooperation and most of all respect and care for others. It develops trust and builds long lasting relationship, and a feeling of oneness as a Pink Radiance. Eddie

We also acknowledge the presence of Grafted in Ministry from San Pablo, Laguna headed by Bro. Yoni and Sis. Giao Nipolo. We thank you brethren for actively participating in the activities and sharing the joy of GIA’s 5th year anniversary.

  5. Panalo si Lord!
It compensates all the hard work, sleepless night preparation, prayers, physical & spiritual consecration of each and everyone who joined / participated. This is definitely a victorious anniversary celebration! All groups played competitively bearing each ones “attitude” to win not to mention that those who were excited and expectant really experienced something new from God’s awesome presence during the evening session and morning worship celebration.
GIAns are ready to move in a new dimension!
    Glory to God!
