Fathers Fellowship

by epb

It was a cold and windy afternoon last Saturday, January 11, 2014 in GIA Calamba, but you can feel the warmth from the people who were there.

It was GIA father’s fellowship that day and it was very festive. We were glad and enjoyed each company. We relaxed, cooked the foods and joked to one another. Basically we enjoyed the company of each other. The culminating part is when we shared what our lives were like when we have not known our Lord and Savior yet. I, for one, is glad that I am privileged to know each of them and to witness each other’s failure and the triumph when we have accepted Jesus as our Lord.

Pastor Carl (Rene) also spoke about the husband’s responsibility to his family. He explained that fathers are the spiritual heads and representatives of God in the society. Since he is the head, the enemy (the devil) will do everything to undermine this authority. And he further explained that the divine order as created by God is as follows: first, the husband as the head of the family. Second, the wife as the body and the third are the children. So if the husband declares that his house will be to GOD, the devil cannot break this. So we (the fathers) must lead in our house during spiritual warfare. He also stressed that even if one is not the breadwinner, he is still the head of the family.

Finally, Pastor Carl mentioned that the husband has the final authority, but he must give account of his decision to God. Pastor Carl explained that this responsibility is not a privilege but a burden. He needs the courage to stand for what he is feel best to his family, even when his wife and children disagree, but he also has the courage to accept when he is wrong. And for that God will lift him up more. Below are some of the photos and the link of the entire album.

  2. The decision these fathers made, unlock something* somewhere*! Praise God, truly the whole GIA is ready!
May all fathers worldwide come to know God and learn how to really lead their families to God.
